Padel is booming worldwide – and with it, rankings are becoming more important. Whether international pros or local amateur players: ranking systems are key for tournament qualification, measuring performance and keeping players motivated. In this article we present the most important padel rankings – from global federations to digital platforms in Germany.
International padel rankings
FIP – the official world ranking of the International Padel Federation
The FIP (International Padel Federation) is the leading world governing body for padel. Its ranking is based on a player’s best 22 tournament results within a 52-week cycle. Points are awarded according to tournament category – such as FIP Platinum, Major, P1 or P2. This system is the basis for taking part in top events like the Premier Padel Tour.
A1 Padel – the alternative international ranking
A1 Padel offers its own points system based on its own tournament series. This ranking is especially popular in South America. It is aimed at players outside the FIP structure and offers an exciting alternative for international competition.
World Padel Tour (WPT) – the former market leader
Until 2023, the World Padel Tour was the leading ranking system. With many WPT tournaments being integrated into the FIP structure, the WPT ranking has lost importance. It is, however, still used in some regions.
National padel rankings in Germany
DPV ranking – the official ranking of the German Padel Association
The DPV (Deutscher Padel Verband) has kept its own ranking since 2012. It is based on the results of official DPV tournaments and covers different age groups such as 30+, 40+ and mixed. Points are also awarded over a 52-week cycle.
Example: in week 29/2025, Christian Böhnke and Nick Merten topped the ranking with 8,987 points each.
RankedIn – the digital platform for padel rankings
RankedIn is the central platform for automated rankings in Germany. It is used by the DPV and many clubs and offers:
- Live rankings for different categories
- Tournament integration with direct allocation of points
- Player profiles with statistics and history
- Club rankings and leagues
RankedIn in detail: the digital future of padel rankings
RankedIn is more than just a tool – it is a complete ecosystem for padel organisations. The platform enables:
- Tournament management
- Recording match results
- Automatic ranking updates
- Organising leagues and challenges
Although it is internationally oriented, RankedIn is increasingly becoming the standard for local and national rankings in Germany.
Conclusion: which padel ranking is the right one?
Whether FIP, A1, DPV or RankedIn – each ranking system has its own target group and structure. While the FIP dominates the global professional ranking, RankedIn offers a flexible solution for clubs and organisers. For players and organisations it often pays to use several systems in parallel to be well positioned both internationally and locally.
